What should you ask before you buy?
Answer these questions first. They narrow your list faster than any spec sheet.
- What fabric will you sew? Cotton and light abaya fabric need less power than denim or thick curtain fabric.
- How often will you sew? A few hours a week is home use. All day, every day, is shop use.
- Who will use the machine? A beginner needs simple controls. A trained tailor needs speed.
- Do you need clean edges or logos? These jobs need an overlocker or an embroidery machine.
Do not buy a heavy industrial machine for light home use. Also avoid a very cheap machine that you will outgrow in a few months. Plan for running costs too, such as needles and regular servicing.

What is the best sewing machine for home use?
A home sewing machine from Janome or Brother covers most jobs at home. You can shorten trousers and fix school uniforms. It can also sew dresses and abayas for you and your family.

Which machine is best for a tailoring shop?

Do you need an overlocker or an embroidery machine?
An overlocker (also called a serger) cuts and wraps the fabric edge in one step. It gives clean edges on T-shirts, knit fabric and abaya seams. It cannot sew a normal straight seam, so you still need a sewing machine. Most people buy the sewing machine first.
An embroidery machine sews names, logos and designs from a design file. Home embroidery machines from Janome and Brother suit small personal jobs. A business that puts logos on caps and uniforms needs a commercial machine, such as apex or Ricoma.

Home machines are free there on orders of AED 1,500 or more, and AED 30 below that. A machine of AED 3,000 or more is delivered free anywhere in the UAE. You can also collect your order free from our location in Sharjah Industrial Area 4.
What warranty comes with the machine?
All our machines come with a one-year warranty. If a home sewing machine or home overlocker you bought from us breaks in the first year, bring it to our location in Sharjah Industrial Area 4 and we fix it there.
Which machine is best for abaya and kandura sewing?
For a shop that sews every day, use an industrial lockstitch machine for the seams and an overlocker for the edges. If you sew abayas for your family at home, a good home sewing machine is enough.
